1996-97 Esa Tikkanen Road Set 1 (Lelands)

This is Esa Tikkanen's road set that was customized for him on his return to the NY Rangers at the trade deadline March 8th 1997.  The sweater consists of several stick marks and burns as well as pilling in inner hem.  The jersey does not have a NYR set tag in the hem as I believe they rushed this sweater to Tikkanen when he arrived in NY and went on the road immediately after his arrival. I have had the owner of Arena Wear in NY who has been doing the Rangers customizations for well over 20 years confirm that the customization is their work.. I will need to send the sweater to MeiGray vintage for an LOA next.

Tikki flourished I his return to NY especially in the 1997 playoffs scoring 9 goals and 3 assists for 12 points in 15 games.. Adding 2 OT game winners against Florida Panthers.. Always very excited to add a SC champion Rangers player to my collection..
